GOTHLA 2010 Videography

I'm SO PSYCHED that Sashi, Tempest et.al, have asked me to record your intense performances at Gothla 2010 as the "official videographer". If we've never met, you can read more about my background with Bellydance videography below.. this section is for pre-ordering.

GOTHLA DVDs are $25 each, or $20 for additional copies (e.g. troupe-mates). And you'll be able to go home with your Gothla-branded DVD right after your performance!

Your Individual or Troupe performance DVDs will feature only your performance. Gala Performers may purchase Gala DVDs which include all performers at the Gala show (for "Educational Purposes").

Use the PayPal links below to purchase your video here (PayPal, CreditCard, etc), or pay at the festival (cash). If you pre-order here, I'll be prepared with a custom-printed DVD that has your (or your troupe's) name on it.

Our Bellydance History

In short, 10+ years ago, a beautiful dancer named Kassia, who had seen my work, asked me to do a 2-camera shoot for her Hafla in St. Catherines, Canada. With hers and others' encouragement and positive feedback, 3 years ago I chose to make Videography as a Life Journalist / Spirit Preservationist my full-time profession and passion.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist who has played for/with dancers, and have worked with amazingly talented professionals who not only helped me to refine my shooting and editing technique for performance artists, but also to hold my quality bar high with regards to audio on DVDs.

I shoot with passion, and engage with the performance through my lense -- I call this "active shooting". I feel the dance, I sense the dancer's energy, and the dancers' intentions get retold through the recorded images.

This is my livelihood, and this is what I love... and I'm always honored to be working with, and for, amazingly talented and creative artists.. like YOU!

Live Audio Setup

For all dance recordings, when appropriate I mix board audio (CD quality music and live musicians [when mic'd]), house audio (applause) and a dedicated stage microphone to pick up zills, costume jinglies, taps, singing, etc.
